ASP.NET and C# learning curve [closed]

My friend wants to become a web developer. However, he doesn't know how to start if he is going to become ASP.NET developer.

He found a book which is titled ' Beginning ASP.NET 4: in C# and VB (Wrox Programmer to Programmer) by Imar Spaanjaars' but he is not sure if this will be right start or not because he has know knowledge in OOP programming and whether he has to learn C# first and read such book or is it OK to start with such that book assuming that the book will teach some fundamentals in C#!
